Learning Is Sweet with Chocolate Fix
Tanya Thompson is the Director of Education Programs at ThinkFun Inc.

Before I joined ThinkFun to head up the Education Department, I spent 12 years as a classroom teacher. As a mathematics educator, I was always inspired to see the incredible learning that emerged from meaningful game play. For this reason, I have been a long-time fan of ThinkFun and believe strongly in the powerful thinking our games support.

With this in mind, I am thrilled to introduce our newest game, Chocolate Fix — a game that develops logical thinking, spatial reasoning and problem solving!

Logical Thinking: Chocolate Fix game play is a mental process where players must consistently use reasoning to solve challenges. This process calls for structure, for identifying relationships between clues and for chains of reasoning that "make sense". A pure Logical Thinking game!

Spatial Reasoning: Chocolate Fix encourages players to visualize the positions of game pieces and draw conclusions based on these spatial relationships. Players build their mental muscles by visualizing and combining clue positions in their minds to fill in the grid and solve challenges.

Problem Solving: We are excited to share with you a free Chocolate Fix Problem Solving lesson plan! This lesson begins by teaching a game-specific strategy, linking this to a general problem solving technique (heuristic), and finally connecting it to real-life problem solving. Included in this lesson plan are all the necessary worksheets as well as a cut and paste version for hands-on play.
